Folsom Police are continuing to investigate what led up to a man found with alleged stab wounds at a Folsom Park Monday morning after reportedly being stabbed multiple times during a fight amongst multiple homeless individuals.
At approximately 7:15 a.m. Monday, Folsom Police officers responded to Livermore Park at 6004 Riley Street in Folsom after receiving reports of a man that was observed bleeding walking near the roadway in the area of the park.
Upon their arrival, the officers located an adult male who had been bleeding for several hours from a stab wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention and the extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.
The incident remains an active investigation by detectives from the Folsom Police Department. According to reports by Folsom Police, the stabbing occurred sometime between Sunday at 11 p.m. and midnight at the restroom area of the park. According to police, multiple homeless individuals became engaged in a physical altercation which results in the victim being stabbed multiple times by the suspects, using his own knife. The victim was not seen until Monday morning when a passerby noticed him near the roadway.
As they investigate the case, police say there is no immediate threat to the general public and this is an isolated case.
as of Monday afternoon, the restroom facility where the incident took place remained closed and surrounded by crime scene tape as the investigation continues.
