FOLSOM — The charm of Folsom’s Historic District shined even brighter throughout the summer months and surrounding this year’s Hometown Parade celebration, and one local business in particular captured the community’s attention. Stone & Birch Boutique, the fashion-forward shop founded by Folsom resident Michelle Asnicar, was named the winner of the Best Decorated Storefront award, a highlight of the annual festivities.

“Michelle from Stone & Birch took our decor challenge and ran with it! She exceeded all expectations by not only decorating her own storefront beautifully, but she also decorated the hallway in front of her building and hung American flags above her entire block. It looked incredible! Michelle’s actions also motivated other businesses to get involved,” parade organizers shared.

“I’ve always loved decorating for the 4th! It’s one of my favorite holidays. The new shop’s window space gave my creative side a bit more room to play! And after visiting Balboa Island last summer and seeing their patriotic flags across the streets all over town.. I had a burning to bring that patriotism to our Folsom! Why stop at windows.. when you ca do bunting under the outside deck and flag garland across the streets! So grateful for the merchants who pitched in to help.. all with smiles & enthusiasm.. and a Board that gave me the green light! Love our little Halmark town!” Asnicar said.

Stone & Birch Boutique is the brainchild of Asnicar, who transformed her lifelong passion for fashion into a thriving small business in the city she calls home. What began as a dream inspired by childhood dress-up sessions in her mom’s wardrobe has grown into one of Folsom’s most beloved boutiques—an inviting destination that blends style, community, and connection.

Asnicar, a mom of three and proud “social bee,” has always believed that fashion is about more than clothing—it’s about confidence and camaraderie. She created Stone & Birch to give women not only a place to shop but also a space to laugh, connect, and support one another. The boutique has become known as a gathering place where fashion and friendship meet, right in the heart of Historic Folsom.

Located at 718 Sutter Street, Suite 100, Stone & Birch Boutique has become a standout along Sutter Street, where its storefront presence is every bit as inviting as its fashion collections inside.
