After a citizen’s report of a suspicious vehicle in the area, Folsom Police arrested a Sacramento man reportedly in possession of an illegal “ghost gun and fentanyl.”  The incident marked the second illegal firearm seizure in less than a week locally. 

Saturday evening around 10:00 p.m. the Folsom dispatch center received a call from an alert citizen who had observed a suspicious vehicle driving around in the area of Broadstone Parkway and East Bidwell Street, according to a report issued by the Folsom Police Department.

After responding and locating the motorist, Folsom Police officers initiated a search of the vehicle, according to a report by the Folsom Police Department. 

During the course of the investigation, officers located both the illegal a ghost gun and a supply of fentanyl. A  ghost gun is a term used by police that describes a homemade gun that does not have a serial number and can be difficult to trace.

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody and identified as Mark Cole, a 37 year old from Sacramento. Cole was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on multiple charges including; being a felon in possession of a firearm, falsifying a vehicle registration, possession of a controlled substance, possession of an illegal/unregistered firearm, and operating a vehicle without a license. 

Just four days earlier, officers made a traffic stop in the area of East Bidwell and Whales Drive where the driver was found to be a felon with an active warrant and was in possession of a ghost gun.  Joseph Sixtoe, 41, of Sacramento was arrested in the earlier incident.
