Units from the Folsom Fire Department and Folsom Police remain on scene of a vegetation fire this morning off Blue Ravine Road near the intersection of Riley Street.
At 8:52 a.m. Thursday morning, Folsom’s engine 35 and engine 38 were dispatched to the scene. As they were enroute, a heavy plume of black and grey smoke was rising from the recreational trail area near the intersection. Firefighters made a fast initial attack on the blaze to extinguish it.
Units remain on scene and traffic may see some delays along Blue Ravine Road with equipment in the area as they mop up the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The area is known to be a popular location for homeless encampments.
