Tickets now on sale for Nov. 7 event

Twin Lakes Food Bank will host its annual night of food, fun, and a live auction to benefit hungry families in our community on Friday, Nov. 7 at Bayside Folsom’s auditorium. The goal is to raise funds to continue the programs and services of the food bank that currently provide the equivalent of 691,310 meals for over 1,800 families every year.

This year, the work of Twin Lakes Food Bank has been honored in a special way—it was named Style Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Best Charitable Organization in the Folsom and El Dorado Hills region. This recognition belongs to every volunteer, donor, and neighbor who has joined in the fight against hunger. Organizers say it is more than an award—it’s a reflection of the hope, compassion, and generosity that fuel the work each day. At this year’s gala, the community is invited to celebrate that shared impact and help carry it forward.

The yearly gala has become an anticipated community tradition as Folsom’s generous donors enjoy good food, live music, and the ever-jubilant auctioneering of Freddie Silvera. In addition to games and premium auction items, attendees will learn more about Twin Lakes Food Bank’s mission and hear how the simple kindness of a few individuals has changed lives in the community.

Randy Peters Catering, a top-rated catering company in the Sacramento region, will be providing tasteful and artistic meals for a third year in a row. While dining, guests will listen to tunes performed by Groove Therapy, a five-piece band known for its smooth, yet upbeat modern jazz genre.

“This is truly a magical night where donors get dressed up and come out with the express intention of supporting our food insecure neighbors,” said Lisa Tuter, Twin Lakes Food Bank’s executive director. “Poverty and hunger in our community continues to rise and this fundraiser is paramount to meet this increasing need.”

With rising food prices, the food bank has seen a dramatic increase in the number of Folsom families in need of food assistance. Twin Lakes Food Bank’s programs provide a safety net and enable these families to free up their limited income on rent, bills, and education.

“We want to see an end to hunger in our community and we can’t do it without all of us working together,” said Ron Perry, Twin Lakes Food Bank board president. “I believe everyone who attends the gala will realize that the food bank is doing far more than offering food. We are coming alongside each guest with love and compassion offering support with dignity. It truly is a great organization to be a part of.”

The live auction is a popular portion of the evening’s festivities, and this year’s list of items does not disappoint. The TLFB Garden Dinner Party hosted by Executive Director Lisa Tuter is back by popular demand, and new items include a three-course family-style dinner for eight at Nixtaco Folsom as well as a luxury escape for two in beautiful Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Assemblyman Josh Hoover, who has attended the event many times and is sponsoring the Dessert Auction for a second year, said, “I’m excited to join the Twin Lakes Food Bank and sponsor the dessert dash at this year’s Starry Night Gala—an evening of elegance, inspiration, and impact. Your presence will help fuel their mission to nourish our community and feed every family in need. Together, let’s celebrate lasting change.”
