  • UPDATE: 1:59 p.m. responding units have reported that the victim was now out of the water and on the shoreline receiving medical evaluation and assistance by first responders on the scene. The extend of their injuries or condition is unknown at this time.

Over the Memorial Day weekend, units from Folsom, Sac Metro and State Parks in the region successfully rescued/assisted 18 different people on Folsom Lake and the American River and continue to heed warnings of extremely cold waters and swift currents due to snowmelt. The conditions can quickly catch a swimmer off guard and life jackets are strongly recommend.
