Firefighters from two different agencies responded to a vegetation fire in El Dorado Hills Monday afternoon that resulted in damages to one home.
At approximately 1:47 p.m. Monday afternoon, units from the El Dorado Hills Fire Department were dispatched to a fire that was reportedly burning near residential structures along Cornerstone Drive in the community of Blackstone, which is located on the southern side of El Dorado Hills off of Latrobe Road, south of Town Center.
Additional units for the Amador-El Dorado unit of Cal Fire were dispatched to incident as well. The first unit to arrive on scene reported an active vegetation fire that was burning adjacent to a home and threatening an additional residence next door.
According to the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, firefighters initiated an aggressive attack on the fire to quickly halt the forward progress and contain it to within the yard of the primary residence. One side of the home was damaged by the fire. According to the report, the damage to the home is estimated to be at approximately $35,000. According to the incident report, no firefighters were injured in the response. The living space of the home was not damaged, preventing any displacement for residents.
As of Monday afternoon, the specific cause of the fire was still being investigated and fire crews remained on scene to insure all hotspots were fully extinguished.
