Historic Folsom certainly was filled with hometown spirit and it was a great day to be a bulldog, as they like to say, Wednesday night as hundreds lined Historic Sutter Street to cheer on the Folsom Bulldogs for the annual 2023 coming parade.

While the event drew plenty of spectators, it also drew a great showing in participants that made their way down Sutter Street from Coloma and concluded at Reading Street.

The trek that lasted just over 20 minutes and was just the first part of the evening of celebration that boasted an abundance of hometown pride. The Historic District was overtaken by a sea of red, white and blue uniforms, from players, cheerleaders, coaching staff, school administrators and plenty of local fans.

Following the parade, the crowd moved to the Zittel Family Amphitheater for an energetic rally that included cheer demonstrations and words of inspiration from Folsom High School Principal Howard Cadenhead.

Cadenhead’s words were followed by the traditional presentation of the 2023 Folsom High School Homecoming Court. The evening concluded with the naming of the Homecoming King and Queen for the Freshman, Sophomore and Junior classes. The announcing of the winners of the 2023 homecoming float competition were the final order of business.
