July 3-5 declared Western Rodeo Days by Folsom City Council
As the Folsom Pro Rodeo rides into town next week, a new Grand Marshal of the event will assume the role of being the face of the next week’s Folsom Pro Rodeo that is nearly sold out already. Martell joins a long list of recent Rodeo Grand Marshals as he takes on the role, following some of the most recent Grand Marshals such as Kris Keables, Rich Reynolds, Marshal Crossan, Karen West, Adam Frick and more.
Martell’s honor was previously announced by the Folsom Chamber of Commerce during its Community Awards at the Harris Center for the Arts. It was there that Martell was presented with his official Folsom Pro Rodeo Belt Buckle, rodeo shirt and the title of 2024 Rodeo Grand Marshal. Now, just days ahead, Martell will join thousands at the Dan Russell arena for Folsom’s largest annual spectator event that celebrates 63 years.
Through the years, Martell has actively served not only the chamber but the community as well. Among his roles, Martell has served as a City of Folsom planning commissioner, he has served as the chair of the Folsom Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Additionally, he continues to be a member of the Rotary club of Folsom and has been not only an avid Rodeo fan for more than 20 years, but has volunteered and sponsored it for just about as long, according to the Folsom Chamber of Commerce.
“Brian’s commitment to our rodeo community extends far beyond the arena. His passion for the sport, coupled with his genuine warmth and contagious smile, is sure to captivate the hearts and imaginations of the over 21,000 fans who will fill the stands, eager to witness the thrilling action and timeless traditions of the Folsom Pro Rodeo,” reads a statement from the Folsom Chamber of Commerce as they officially welcomed Martell. “Congratulations, Brian Martell, on this well-deserved honor, and thank you for your enduring support and partnership. Your passion, generosity, and infectious spirit embody the true essence of the Folsom Pro Rodeo, and we are honored to have you represent us as our Grand Marshal. Here’s to another unforgettable rodeo season, filled with excitement, camaraderie, and the unmistakable thrill of the arena.”
Tuesday night, Martell and other members of the Folsom Pro Rodeo, along with staff from the Folsom Chamber of Commerce gathered at Folsom City Hall as Vice Mayor Sarah Aquino officially declared the week ahead July 3-5 as Western Rodeo Days in Folsom. Aquino issued the proclamation in the absence of Mayor Kozlowski as Martell accepted it on behalf of the Folsom Pro Rodeo.
